We’re very excited to be celebrating our 12th anniversary this month with “Back at the Beach”, at Mango’s Beach Bar! We hope you’ll all join us for this momentous occasion. We have lots of great things planned for the night and hope that you’ll be there to help us toast to another awesome year!

WEDNESDAY, MAY 1ST – PRIDE FAMILY BINGO 6:30PM - Join us at 6:30pm at Circus-Circus for a fun evening of Pride Bingo beginning at 7pm! Join The Bettys and SNAPI (the people who put on our Pride festivals) in the Grand Ballroom, Sky Tower for the fabulous Pride Family Bingo!!!
SATURDAY, MAY 4TH – GOLD STRIKE HIKE 7:30AM – Meet Jaime and Camthi for this one-of-a-kind hike. There are 8 fixed ropes if you go all the way to the river. Some are difficult especially when coming back up. You will have wet boots and having them hold on the boulders you need to climb can be a slippery. Meeting Spot: Hacienda Hotel Casino Parking lot (back side, the first side you approach when driving out from Vegas) Difficulty: Difficult Length: 6.5 miles
Duration: ~ 6 hours What to bring / wear: Comfortable clothing, parts of this hike include bouldering and scrambling, hiking boots, bathing suit if you want to go in hot springs, water shoes (optional, but suggested, crocs work, really any shoes you’re ok getting wet in the hot springs or river as they are very rocky), sun screen, snacks / lunch, plenty of water (minimum ½ gallon (2 liters), more if you know you drink a lot. ****No Dogs (scrambling too difficult)
Where to Meet: Meet at Hacienda Hotel, back of parking lot. Parking at the trail head is just up the street, but limited we can carpool from the Hacienda. We will leave the Hacienda at 8:00 am. SUNDAY, MAY 5TH – BETTYS’ CINCO DE MAYO PICNIC 12PM – Please meet us at Lone Mountain Park, located at 4445 N. Jensen and the very end of west Craig Road (at the base of Lone Mountain) from noon until 5pm. The Bettys will be providing hamburgers and hot dogs with all the fixin's plus chips and water (while supplies last). Please bring a dish to share, your drinks, a blanket, sunscreen, a lawn chair, and your kids... both two and friendly four legged!
We'll play our very popular Human Bingo, some other fun games and a huge raffle for some VERY cool prizes. Plus we’ll have piñatas for both the little kids and us big kids! As well as bags of delicious Angelious Gourmet Popcorn on hand to do a little yummy fundraising! This is a FREE event, please join us!

FRIDAY, MAY 10TH – “8” THE PLAY 7PM – Join Camthi at the Clark County Flamingo Library’s main theater lobby at 6:30pm, 1401 E. Flamingo Road 89119, for this exciting new play chronicling the federal trial for marriage equality by Dustin Lance Black. The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District, Out West 2013 and the Nevada Conservatory Theatre are proud to present the Nevada debut of American Foundation for Equal Rights & Broadway Impact’s “8” a staged reading of Dustin Lance Black’s powerful documentary play based on the transcripts of the federal court case for marriage equality. Directed by Todd Espeland; community members, students and local actors will interpret the voices of David Boies, Ted Olson, Charles Cooper and Judge Vaughn Walker, among many others, in the San Francisco trial where cameras were barred. A moderated discussion about marriage equality will follow.
Out West, in partnership with museums, libraries and universities, is a historical educational program series created by independent curator Gregory Hinton dedicated to illuminating the contributions of the gay, lesbian, transgender, bisexual, and two spirit communities to the history and culture of the American West. SATURDAY, MAY 11TH – BETTYS’ 12TH ANNIVERSARY BASH “Back to the Beach” 7PM – Join the Betty board and all the rest of The Bettys as we go “Back to the Beach” to celebrate 12 fabulous Betty years! Spend the night dancing and celebrating with us under the stars at Mango’s Beach Bar, 6650 W. Vegas Dr. (at Rainbow Blvd). We’ll have a special “Betty Happy Hour” from 7pm to 8pm with drink specials and free gifts for those ladies who arrive early. At 8pm we’ll have our super special guest, direct from her own nightly radio show “On Your Mind with Schree and Baby”, the totally unpredictable and outrageous comedy of actress, model, and stand-up comedian (and one of our very own Bettys!) the hysterical, Schree Lewis! Her comedy is completely improvisational and you NEVER know what is going to come out of her mouth! Plus we’ll have lots of snacks, contests, a raffle, and other surprise! All women 21+ are welcome! T.H.E. will cultivate stronger communities globally through dialogue and collaboration via discussion-based opinion pieces from our readers and in-person meetups, we will give voice to our entire community by showcasing the creative people and advocates who impact queer culture and we will bring attention to local and global issues that affect the queer community, especially the marginalized communities within the queer spectrum.
